The Mulliens House for Sober Living was established to meet a critical and long-overlooked need. As the first transitional home in the state of Georgia created specifically for veteran men and their children, it provides a safe, restorative environment where families can heal together and rebuild their lives. By keeping fathers and children connected, we’re able to create deeper, generational impact that strengthens families and sets the stage for long-term stability.

Our program offers trauma-informed counseling and mental health support, combined with practical education in financial literacy, entrepreneurship, homeownership, parenting, and vocational skills. We also provide employment readiness and educational assistance. For veterans with criminal records, we offer re-entry counseling and workforce preparation, including training in new trades and farming.

This level of support is especially vital for homeless veterans, many of whom struggle with trauma, addiction, unemployment, and the loss of family connections. The Mulliens House gives these men the opportunity to regain stability, reunify with their children, and begin rebuilding with dignity. Every class, counseling session, and skill-building activity is designed to help them become fully reacclimated to society—socially, professionally, and emotionally.

Participants can practice their new skills in real time, earn points for progress, and “purchase” essentials like toiletries, clothing, work gear, and shoes through our in-house shop. This system reinforces responsibility, pride, and normalcy.

Upon completing all required courses, veterans are better prepared for independent living and qualify for our transitional housing support. The result is a stronger foundation for themselves and their children—one that breaks cycles of homelessness, restores confidence, and opens the door to lasting stability.
